ABOUT US

OVERVIEW

The main objective of the trust is to enhance children’s capacity for critical thinking and creative expression by using innovative methods of learning and teaching. Towards this, we run language learning programs in government schools, operate NEET’s Community Library cum Resource Centre and ECCE programme. The trust conducts capacity engagement programme for educators and grassroots organisations on language teaching, learning and creating vibrant library spaces. We are also engaged in curriculum development, translation and creation of quality children’s literature in Assamese. Additionally, we have created multiple teacher guiding documents to support teachers in their classroom transactions.

OUR APPROACH

An integrated pathway encompassing the four pillars central to a child’s life: family, community, school and government

OUR VISION

A just, equitable and sustainable society, in which dignity of labour is respected.

To create educational cultures that nourish children to be critically aware and creative thinkers so that they become rational individuals who are independent and make meaningful contribution to society.

OUR MISSION

OUR HISTORY

Though registered as a Public Charitable trust in 2009, NEET started functioning in 2016 by documenting good teaching learning practices across the Indian education space. We began engaging with teachers and children through workshops to enhance their creative expressions and critical thinking by using innovative techniques of learning like discovery method, theater and storytelling.
