Anubhav - A learning center

Inaugurated on March 25, 2023, in Sonaipam village, Assam.

Our beneficiaries

Anubhav – NEET’s Learning Center supports residents of Sonaipam, Sonaimiri, Buragaon, and Lokhra villages, home to Nepali, Dafla, Mising, Assamese, and Adivasi communities. Catering to daily wage earners and dairy farmers from economically weaker sections, the center offers a positive educational space and supportive learning environment.

In the centre we conduct the following:

  1. Library Activities: Our Resource Persons regularly conduct activities like read-alouds, book talks to encourage children to read.

       2. Academic classes: We provide after-school support in core subjects like English, Language, Maths and Science with the help of child friendly pedagogy.

 

 

    3. Workshop and Events: 

                    Summer Workshops:  We have organised two summer workshops on drama, dance and music, art etc. The children                             showcased their learning in Antorongo Aalap, a cultural event. More than 350 children participated in 2023 and around                       100 in 2024 summer workshop. 

    • Winter Workshop :From December 10, 2023, to January 18, 2024, we conducted workshops on drama, street play, rhymes, poem recitation, art, and dance.  More than 250 children participated in these activities at Anubhav Learning Centre and six government schools in Balipara block.
    •   Public Awareness Campaign on Cleanliness: On January 18, 2024, Kuladhipati Nath from Pollution Control Board  Assam delivered an Awareness Talk  on pollution at three schools in the Balipara block. Students from Chengalimara H.S. School performed a Street play on pollution at Lokra Haat Bazar
    • Children Festival cum Book Fair: We conducted a 2 day book fair on January 20-21, 2024, at Lokra in Sonitpur district showcasing children’s books from different national publishers. The children fest included a poem recitation workshop, drawing and poster-making competitions, and performances including drama, storytelling, poem recitation, street plays and dances. Over 250 students participated in front of an audience of 400 people.   .

Community Engagement

Anubhuti Health Camps: We have organised two health camps to improve maternal and child health. In both the second camp, we provided free medical check-ups and medicines to over 150 beneficiaries from 13 villages.
Community Visits: We conduct community visits once in a fortnight to remain connected with our community members.
