Background

Nikhil, a 9th-grade student at Chariduar School, moved from Nepal to Assam with his family seeking better economic opportunities. Despite his father’s sole income and his mother’s role as a homemaker, Nikhil remains dedicated to his studies and aims to improve his family’s future.

Motivation to Join the Anubhav A Learning Centre

Nikhil joined Anubhav Learning Centre in May 2023, driven by the diverse collection of books and the opportunity to attend academic classes in Assamese, Mathematics, Science, and English. The centre’s resources and support have significantly boosted his academic performance.

From Reading Books to Leading Activities – Nikhil’s Diverse Involvement.

Beyond academics, Nikhil has become an active participant in workshops and events. He takes leadership roles in art, drama, dance, and music activities. He is passionate about drama, helps the entire cast in learning their lines and gives them cues when they lack expression.  He assists in drama productions, helps with props and decorations, and plays a significant role in community events like Antaranga Alap and Children Fest. His passion for storytelling earned him second place in the “Shishu Mela” story writing competition.

Nikhil’s involvement at Anubhav has markedly improved his Assamese language skills and overall academic performance. His commitment to his studies is evident, as he spends four hours a day studying and prefers reading over mobile phone use.
